Brunner Gland Hamartoma



70 year-old woman undergoing upper endoscopy for chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease to screen for Barrett's. Incidental finding of a 1 cm potentially submucosal polypoid lesion in the duodenal bulb. Surface biopsy revealed Brunner gland hyperplasia. Patient was sent for EUS and endoscopic mucosal resection. The final path report determined the lesion to be a Brunner gland hamartoma with focal low grade dysplasia.
