Lentigo Simplex

Foci of darkly pigmented mucosa (lower left portion of image) in the proximal and mid-esophagus, an incidental finding in an 82 year-old man undergoing endoscopy for evaluation of abdominal pain. Lentigo simplex is a benign condition, commonly seen in squamous epithelium, but not commonly found in the esophagus.
