Post-Bypass Gastric Pouch
The roux-en-y gastric bypass procedure creates a small gastric pouch with a 30 ml capacity, about the volume of a chicken egg. The images above demonstrate the size of the pouch, with the squamocolumnar junction (esophagogastric junction) in the foreground and the (purposefully) narrow gastric pouch outlet in the near distance.
