Band Migration
Left: 34 year-old woman who had undergone a banded gastroplasty for obesity 8 years earlier. Endoscopy revealed partial migration of the band into the lumen of the gastric pouch. As the process of erosion of the band through the gastric wall was chronic, the patient was asymptomatic.
Right: Similar finding in a 59 year-old woman with a history of gastric surgery for obesity several years ealier.
